sunday meal prep 7/31/16

Hey all! I hope you are all having a lovely weekend. Here we are mostly working on stuff around the house and getting ready for our newest additions! We are getting 3 adorable pet rats this week! 🙂 I can’t wait to pick them up and I’m sure you will end up seeing a few pictures on Instagram as we get them settled in! Other than that, not much exciting, but this meal prep definitely is!

sunday meal prep 7/24/16

Hey everyone! I hope you are all having a lovely weekend! We have had a wonderful weekend, including a family dinner at my parents, where Draz got to meet some of my extended family and I got to see a few people I hadn’t seen in many years 🙂 It was a lot of fun, full of laughter and tasty food! That was the highlight of our weekend, though I did get some photography work done as well. That’s pretty much the highlights from our weekend, so now on to our meal prep for the week!

sunday meal prep 7/17/16

Happy Sunday all! I hope you are all having a lovely weekend! This week’s meal prep is mostly dishes you may have seen before, but there is one new recipe in the mix too! I had a lot going on last weekend, so I knew when I planned this menu that I didn’t want it to take too long. The end result: some recipes that were pretty quick to come together and worked well cooking at the same time. This meal prep ended up taking about 3.5 hours of active cooking time, but only about half of that was main dishes. The rest was  assembling our breakfast burritos, salads and snacks!

Meal Planning: A Beginner’s Guide

So you all know just how much I love meal planning. After all, it’s the first step to meal prep! I’ve been doing meal planning for years! A lot longer than I have been meal prepping. I grew up in a home that did meal planning every week. My parents still do!

I’m excited to say that today I’m talking about meal planning over at Sarah & Co! Head over to her lovely site and check out the full post!

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a lovely weekend! We have some storms going on here right now, but otherwise it has been a good weekend 🙂 I’ve been having some slight back issues again, so I’ve taken a couple extra rest days this week. If I take care of it early on, hopefully I will be back to full workouts this coming week! But enough about my week….now it’s time to talk about all the tasty food for this week’s meal prep!

sunday meal prep 7/3/16

Hey everyone! Happy 4th of July weekend! I hope you are all having a wonderful long weekend (some of us in the US at least). Our weekend was actually pretty much the same as always, but that’s fine. Still got a lot done and had a great time! This week’s meal prep is actually another short one, but not for the same reasons as last time. Yay, I’m not sick anymore! But remember the pretty large amounts of food those quick and easy meals made last week? Well, we ended up with so much food that we ended up not needing as much this week! So I got to enjoy a weekend working on the blog and business, with a smaller amount of cooking 🙂 They were new recipes and turned out delicious!

Spend less time in the kitchen and more doing the things you love! In 2 hours of active cooking you can make a delicious stir-fry, lentil soup and salads, plus enough snacks to last the whole week!Read More

sunday meal prep 6/26/16

Hey all! Happy Sunday! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Ours was pretty good here, though busy. A few things are still being caught up on from me being sick last week, but I think I’m getting close to caught up!  Speaking of me being sick last week….This meal prep is quite possibly the shortest I have ever done. (keep in mind these are staggered by one week, so this post is for last Sunday’s prep) I was still feeling not-too-great, so I planned for quick prep meals and the bare minimum of active cooking. I also forgot to photograph the salads and the picture of the main prep isn’t my prettiest picture by far 🙁 All that being said, I am really glad I still did my prep! I started feeling better on Monday and was back up and active by Tuesday and I’m so glad that I didn’t have to worry about the cooking then! All the food I did make was really tasty too, so at least there is that!

So with all that being said, enjoy this week’s prep! I even have a couple recipes that I don’t think I’ve shared on the blog before, so make sure to check them out below!

Having a good weekend? I did, though I’ve not been feeling the best the last couple days to be honest. I am starting to feel better now though, so hopefully things will be back to normal this coming week!

Now on to the meal prep 🙂 One thing I really like about this week’s meal prep: it’s short! Ok….it’s not 2 hours or anything, but it didn’t take too much time, made a lot of food and tasted wonderful! And I still had time for an hour bike ride with Draz and made a new pendant (guys, it’s super pretty!). And if you aren’t as treat-obsessed as I am, this meal prep would only take 2-3 hours. But I am treat obsessed, so it took longer than that 🙂

sunday meal prep 6/12/16

Hey all! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I know I did! The week in general went pretty great, which was in large part due to being back on my workout schedule 🙂 I knew I had missed it, but I didn’t realize just how much. It felt great to be pushing my body more again! Another great part of this week was this meal prep. I loved trying (and creating) some new recipes, plus a throwback to one of my favorite jar salads to mix things up even more!

sunday meal prep 6/5/16

Hey all! If you read my post on Friday, you know that this week was kinda rough for me. It’s weeks like this that I am so glad I started doing meal prep. While I may not have eaten the best all the time this week (too much Chex Mix for my own good) I managed to stay mostly on track even with my energy being super low and motivation gone. After all, it doesn’t take much work to reheat food that is already prepared, right!?

And this is one of the many reasons I meal prep. You never know what is going to happen, or how a week is going to go. This week it was a lot of trouble sleeping. As some of you know, other times it’s been trips to the ER, thanks to my accident-prone-ness. But no matter what, at least I don’t have to worry much about what Draz and I are going to eat!

Ok, so before I start going on about the wonderfullness of meal prep even more than I already have….How about we just get on to the actual food!?
