Why I Started a Blog: An Introduction

There are a lot of blogs out there….millions in fact. According to this site in November 2013, there were over 152,000,000 blogs on the internet. This stands to reason that there are quite a few more now, with more being created every day. So why, out of all those millions of blogs, do I feel the desire to start my own?

To really explain that, I need to back up a few years. About to graduate college, I had a plan, a path that I knew I was going to take after graduation. Only….I didn’t end up taking that path. Instead, my life changed dramatically. Suddenly, I didn’t have ANY plan. This aimless existence continued on for a couple of years and I became stuck, unhappy and unhealthy. Then, almost seemingly overnight, things started to change.

Why the dramatic change? Because I found blogs. Blogs like this one  and this one. Of course, I had heard of blogs before and even read blog posts occasionally. But nothing like these. I found myself having more motivation in life. My creativity, which had all but disappeared for years, started returning.

Fast forward to now. I have a wonderful life that I am building with my boyfriend and our dogs. I am healthier, happier and more motivated than I have been in years. My reasons for starting this blog are multifold. There changes that are happening in my life, my home, and my mentality that I want to record in a fun way. I want a way to keep myself accountable for the projects I am working on. I want to connect with people who have similar interests to my own and build new friendships. And my hope is that I can help at least one person in some way, like I was helped so much when I found those blogs a few years ago.

Thanks for reading! I’m so excited to share this journey with you all as it unfolds!
