Sunday Meal Prep

Hey all, it’s time for this weeks Sunday Meal Prep! This one is a bit smaller than last week. I have found over time I tend to alternate between bigger, more time-intensive Sundays and much smaller, more basic Sundays. This is due to prepping a lot of meals and meal-componenets for the freezer on the larger Sundays.

Also, in the spirit of full disclosure, I have started posting each Meal Prep grouping one week after it was actually made. When I started this series, my intention was to post that same day’s group. However, I have come to realize that it was just too stressful for me to do it that way. The end result would most likely be a sub-par post, and I don’t particularly want to do that, for myself and for all of you!

So, without further delay, here is my Sunday Meal Prep from last weekend! Continue reading “Sunday Meal Prep”

Learning to Garden: How My Garden is Growing!

Hey everyone! Just a quick update in my ever-continuing journey in learning to garden!

My vegetable plants seem to be growing in pretty well! I’ve been told I need to get cages to support the tomatoes, so I’m going to be picking those up over the next couple days. Anyone know if I have waited too long based on the picture?

Sunday Meal Prep

Welcome back for another week of meal prep ideas and recipes! I took a break from meal prep last week, which felt kinda weird. The BF and I took some time off of work to celebrate our anniversary, so I decided to forgo meal prep for just daily cooking.

But I’m back! 🙂 So without further delay, here is all the delicious food! Continue reading “Sunday Meal Prep”

Ciccotti Art Glass and Our Anniversary!

Hey all! This is the first post in a new monthly series on this blog spotlighting (mostly) local places that I think are neat, awesome and more! This will give you a look into a great local place, an overview of my experience, and general estimated costs (if there are any). While I realize that most people will not be local to central Iowa, I hope that maybe this will give you some ideas for new businesses and places to search out in your areas as well!

Now that the rundown of the series plan is over, I can get on to the fun stuff! 😉 The BF and I just celebrated our 1 year anniversary! To celebrate, we took some time off of work, relaxed at home together and wanted to do something fun, new and memorable for our anniversary date. We decided on taking a workshop at Ciccotti Art Glass. Continue reading “Ciccotti Art Glass and Our Anniversary!”

DIY Spring Wreath

Hey all! I’ve got a quick and easy DIY spring decor project that I think you are going to love! I know I do!

Decorating for the seasons is something I only just started really doing in the last year or so. It’s something I always wanted to do more of….it just has a way of making a house feel more homey to me. Growing up, my mom would always pull out the seasonal decor as soon as she possibly could when the season started changing. Each room throughout the house would get at least a few touches and the house always was warm, inviting and beautiful. I never really thought much about how the decor played a part in that until I moved out, but she put so much effort into making our house into a lovely home. Now she is my inspiration in many ways, and was the motivation for me creating this wreath! Continue reading “DIY Spring Wreath”

Learning to Garden: Lessons From My Dad

Gardening has always been one of those things that seems just out of reach. Plants were something I wanted but never really seemed a possibility. People that had lush flower beds and bountiful gardens were people to be admired and, I’ll admit, envied a little. Their beautiful lawns were a stark contrast to my own.

Sunday Meal Prep

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend!

So a few months back, around the beginning of the year, I stumbled across this wonderful website that inspired me to start getting into meal prep. As stereotypical as it may be, that was right around the time that we really started putting a focus on a healthier lifestyle, including healthy meals.

I’ve since spent (almost) every Sunday morning prepping mason jar salads, various snacks and our meals for the upcoming week. This is this week’s meal prep 🙂 Continue reading “Sunday Meal Prep”

Why I Started a Blog: An Introduction

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
There are a lot of blogs out there….millions in fact. According to this site in November 2013, there were over 152,000,000 blogs on the internet. This stands to reason that there are quite a few more now, with more being created every day. So why, out of all those millions of blogs, do I feel the desire to start my own?

To really explain that, I need to back up a few years. About to graduate college, I had a plan, a path that I knew I was going to take after graduation. Only….I didn’t end up taking that path. Instead, my life changed dramatically. Suddenly, I didn’t have ANY plan. This aimless existence continued on for a couple of years and I became stuck, unhappy and unhealthy. Then, almost seemingly overnight, things started to change. Continue reading “Why I Started a Blog: An Introduction”
